Lorde Answers These Questions from Fans
As everyone probably knows by now, Lorde isn’t exactly afraid to say what she wants. And I say, good for her. Speak your mind, girl. Today, the young musician opened up even more to answer questions for her fans on Reddit. While there were many questions about her career and personal life as a whole, fans made it their mission to come up with some, well… creative questions.
Somehow Lorde going to the dentist became a popular topic of conversation when one Redditor, bruintrumpet, commented, “My roommate and I have noticed that you talk about teeth a lot on your album. Why is that?” To this, Lorde responded with “Just a weird obsession that has been with me always. Ironically, I hate dentists.” Yeah, me too. Oh, and of course, there was the question that came up involving her hair, because who doesn’t want Lorde’s thick locks of curly goodness? It’s like those times when you curl your hair just so that it actually looks kind of messy but also effortlessly beautiful. Yep.
“What shampoo do you use?” ImKen asked, to which Lorde replied saying, “My mum buys it in 2-litre bottles from the supermarket I don’t even know.” Nice. I wouldn’t want anyone to know my hair secrets either, but if they must, Herbal Essences.
However, while there were obviously people trolling on this feed, there were users with some pretty serious questions for her. Shazzabam asked Lorde if she was planning on finishing school. “Not sure yet! Obviously it’s hard at the moment, although I do read theses/academic writing from teachers regularly. I read this cool thing Jennifer Lawrence said the other day about learning about the world through books vs. her real world experience, and I’m definitely feelin that right now. But maybe that’s just a lazy person’s excuse,” she said. First, what a brilliant comment, and second, she definitely dropped a JLaw line. Ten points for Gryffindor.
Also, when saigezabarte posted a comment saying, “Are you confident in your stage performance? I know people have criticized the way you perform, how do you respond to that?” her answer was absolutely perfect. “I know when I’m onstage, I don’t think about how it looks, I just concentrate on really feeling what I hear. But I totally know I look like Gollum when I perform, so it’s cool.” Internet high five to you, Lorde.
The questions continued and many of them revolved around Lorde’s music videos, asking her things like how long “Tennis Court” took to shoot and what song she would like to make a video for next (which she said she would leave up to Reddit). Really all this did was increase Lorde’s popularity x1000, so you go, Glen Coco.
And there was this:
