What Is Miley Cyrus' New Album About?

by Melissah Yang

When MTV announced Miley Cyrus would be given the reins as host of the 2015 Video Music Awards, no one really knew what to expect. There was some onstage beef and a possible accidental nipple slip, but Cyrus closed out the show with a bang by performing a new song and dropping her newest album online. Let's just say the 23-song project, Miley Cyrus And Her Dead Petz , is expectedly shocking so what is Miley Cyrus new album about?

Cyrus' fourth album Bangerz, released in 2013, was a public declaration that her Hannah Montana days were long behind her. The album produced party hits like "We Can't Stop," and her "Wrecking Ball" music video smashed records by becoming the first to reach 100 million views on Vevo. And it was during her Bangerz days that we got her true coming out party with that unforgettable twerking performance with Robin Thicke during the 2013 VMAs.

Well, the tongue came back in 2015 along with some wild outfits, but Cyrus' newest album is notably more introspective with themes that are obviously really personal to her — like her dead pets. Let's take a look at what really matters to Miley.

Her Dead Pets

It's a known fact that Cyrus really misses her dead pets (just look at the album's title.) There's "The Floyd Song (Sunrise)," which is dedicated to her Alaskan Klee Kai Floyd who died last April. There's also the eponymous "Pablow the Blowfish," an ode to the beloved fish who departed from its tank in February.

Cyrus unveiled "Dooo It!" at the end of the VMAs, and I mean, can anyone really be surprised that she loves pot and she also loves weed?

Sex

In "BB Talk," Cyrus hints that she may possibly have had a 15-minute long orgasm. Nice. Other songs to keep an eye on: "Bang Me Box."

Being F*cked Up

Getting f*cked up is probably the general theme of the entire album, but there's also a 50-second piece called "F*ckin F*cked Up." It is what you would expect. Second runner-up is "I'm So Drunk."

Food

Cyrus must have had mad munchies when she came up with titles like "Milky Milky Milk," "Tangerine," and "Slab Of Butter."

Outer Space (Or Something Like It)

With songs like "Something About Space Dude" and "Space Boots," Cyrus clearly is fascinated with what's beyond our atmosphere, and she might be willing to take an astronaut as a beau. It depends on how you want to interpret them, but both songs are pretty out there.

Karen

It's very The Beatles' "Dear Prudence," but seriously. Who is Karen??
