The 2015 VMAs Red Carpet Had Plenty Of Style Hits
Welp, we've reached that time of night, folks. The red carpet is over, the show is beginning, and it's time to round up the 2015 VMAs best-dressed. While the red carpet tonight was many things — body positive, totally out-there, wildly wacky — it was, above all else, completely stylish. Everyone from Vanessa Hudgens (looking like a fairy princess at Coachella) to Rebel Wilson in Eloquii, to the evening's venerable host, Miley Cyrus, brought it style-wise, but there can only be a few who've truly earned the title of "Best Dressed."
There were so many excellent fashion moments tonight that it's honestly hard to choose just a few that really stood out. Taylor Swift rolling in with her "Bad Blood" squad was certainly breathtaking, but did they all have equally fabulous outfits? I'm not so certain! Amber Rose also stepped out with friends in toe, rocking some statement-making pieces and making this perhaps the most interesting VMA turnout, fashion-wise since the early '00s brought us Justin and Britney in matching "formal" denim.
Still, "best dressed" doesn't always mean "most interestingly dressed," and some of the wildest ensembles were bound to be misses. I mean, Cyrus looked unforgettable in her first outfit of the night, but I'm not sure metallic silver suspenders and not much else is a recipe for chicness.
Read on for the most well-dressed attendees of the night.
1. Vanessa Hudgens
Could she been anymore flawlessly boho? The whole thing is a little circa-2009, but she pulls it off so well. As my fellow Bustle editor, Olivia Muenter, put it "Is she sponsored by Free People or what?"
2. Cara Delevingne
The model-turned-actress hit the carpet with Taylor Swift and her "Bad Blood" squad wearing this ultra cool black fringed mini adorned with silver stars. She kept the rest of her ensemble simple with classic black sandals, piled-on rings, and those ever-on-fleek brows.
3. Hailee Steinfeld
Everything about this look is, well, everything. The color, the little caplet, the fact that it's a jumpsuit. My favorite detail, however, is probably that bold gold choker. Slay.
4. Serayah
This shredded, fringed, see-through number is daring and gorgeous.
5. Nicki Minaj
She looks like she dipped herself in liquid gold and walked out the door.
6. Rebel Wilson
Between the '80s glam pink tips and the stunning black and pink ensemble, it's hard to choose a favorite element of this look.
7. FKA Twigs
She is just on fire in this! I love the detailing around her waist.
8. Arielle Vandenberg
What's not to love about this sumptuous greenish blue velvet number?
9. Demi Lovato
Cool for the summer indeed.
