I’m just going to admit it up front: Going into this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, I was anticipating a pretty awkward show. I don't mean this in a bad way, of course — awkward moments are one of the best parts of any awards show, the MTV VMAs included. Luckily, the 2015 MTV VMAs delivered awkward moments galore — like, so awkward that I had to hide my eyes a couple times and briefly wondered if it were possible to laugh too hard.
Were you really expecting any differently, though? Put a ton of celebrities into any room in a live television setting, and things are bound to get a little awkward. Like, for one, I know I was stoked to see whether or not Cyrus would show up in some bizarre outfit that looked like Hannah Montana Redux. (Although, let’s be real, that would have been straight up awesome, not awkward.)
But no matter what you were thinking the show would be like ahead of time, these 15 moments delivered even more awkwardness than even I could have dreamed of.
