Rihanna's Menswear Look Is Pink, With Kicks

by Amy Sciarretto

The menswear (and pantsuit) trend is supposed to be masculine by definition. Sure, plenty of fashionable types add feminine touches, like gobs of jewelry or heels or they go bra-less. Rihanna's take on menswear was pink and included sneakers, so it was masculine and feminine at once. Perhaps the opposite styling canceled things out and the whole thing ended up being gender neutral? Some outlets have described the outfit as white, but I totally see pink!

You have a look and decide.

The style rebel didn't opt for a fitted ensemble, a neutral or dark color, or strappy shoes. She didn't further feminize her pink pantsuit look; that's a Selena Gomez style signature. Instead, Rih went with loose-fitting and paired the outfit with athletic sneakers. Her auburn curls were brushed out.

Rihanna has rocked pajamas as outerwear, seemingly relishing the loose fit. She's also done a demure two-piece skirt set in pink, which was way more conservative than anything I am used to seeing her in.

This pink pantsuit wasn't fussy nor was it clean with its lines. It had gingham checks, which can be very classic. But it wasn't ladies-who-lunch in its styling. At all. It was super street and that's why I dig it.

It was just... Rihanna pairing sneakers with a pantsuit that just so happened to be pink.

She also ran into actor Cuba Gooding, Jr. and shared a bro hug with him.

You get a look at the loose fit from the back.

It was such a powdery shade. But there was nothing precious about the presentation.

It wasn't super sexy or skin-showing either. It was like RiRi didn't put too much thought into it.

Remember her semi-similar, demure pink skirt set by Altuzarra? It was racier, due to the slit and you could see her ribcage tattoo.

I definitely prefer this pink skirt outfit to the pants one!

The peek-a-boo tattoo made all the difference.

Rihanna actually loves her some pink! Like this satin-y outfit paired with contrasting black sneakers and socks.

She also loves the loose-fit PJ look and she loves pink. I'm only realizing her affinity for pink now.

ICYMI, check out Rihanna's latest Puma ad. She is all about that Fly Girl look. Athleisure street style is so in in 2015. Rihanna provides the evidence on all fronts.
