Is 'Bachelor' Star Mackenzie Still Into Aliens?
Reality TV fans probably remember Mackenzie Deonigi, from Chris Soules’ season of The Bachelor, as the spunky 21-year-old dental assistant searching for love (and aliens). She was lively, fun, and always said whatever odd thing was on her mind. Now that Mackenzie is joining Bachelor in Paradise Season 2, it made me think back to her time on Chris' season. Let's take a walk down memory lane and remember what happened to Mackenzie on The Bachelor. (Spoiler alert: She was pretty entertaining, guys.)
After a first one-on-one date where Mackenzie told Chris he had a big nose (but in an off-kilter complimentary kind of way?) and said something else that he later called a “red flag,” fans were all kind of wondering how she stuck around so long. It probably had something to do with the fact that she’s a single mom, (her son is named Kale. Yeah, like the green), and therefore she was perhaps not as immature as some people her age might have been. Or, maybe Chris just had odd judgement. He did keep Ashley S. and Kelsey Poe around for a long time... Anyway, here’s a quick refresher course about the Mackenzie's five-week stint on The Bachelor before she touches down in Mexico.
She Talked About Aliens
In addition to telling Chris "a prominent nose" is important to her on the first date. She also struck up a conversation about if he believed in aliens. The Bachelor had this to say, “The fact that she's talking about aliens on a first date does raise a few red flags for me.” Yet, she didn't get sent home!
She Was Nervous To Tell Chris About Her Son
But, she did, and he was cool about it. They looked at baby pictures. He gave her a rose. The End.
She Bragged About Kissing Chris Five Times
Get it, girl!
She Took The Elimination Really Hard
When she was sent home, Mackenzie cried and said, “I don’t know if I’d ever be able to get over it.” It was pretty heartbreaking. But, now that some time has passed, it looks like (at least on Instagram) Deonigi is doing pretty well post-show. And, she can even crack jokes about The Bachelor franchise.
