If you watch Big Brother 17, then you most definitely are following the so-called relationship of Austin and Liz. And whether you are a huge supporter of the two or despise them "dating" immensely, there's no doubt that Austin and Liz hooking up inside the house is pretty messed up, especially since he has (or had?) a girlfriend, named Jen, before BB17 . Sure, Austin said he and his girlfriend are in an "open relationship," but who really knows. Anyways, allegedly, before starting the game, Austin wrote his girlfriend a letter, and his supposed words not only suggest he cared about her deeply, but also hint at some trouble within their relationship.
The letter was posted Monday on Twitter by two accounts which seem to belong to Austin's girlfriend's sisters. As you can read below, he allegedly wrote, "I am writing you this letter in hopes that it will give you something to hold onto until I return to you." See? It seems like he really loves her. However, here's the interesting part, which definitely suggests their relationship wasn't perfect:
I love you and I am sorry that it has taken me so long to begin to do the things that you have wanted in our relationship. My main motivation for sticking this big brother show out is to create the business connections necessary to have the money to enjoy an adventurous, travel filled relationship with you. The last few weeks with you have meant the world to me and I want nothing more than to continue these amazing adventures with you when I return. I understand though that you have a lot to think about while I am gone. I believe in my heart that we will make it through this together and be stronger because of it. But no matter what you decide when I am gone, just know that I will love you and support any decision you make.
Wow. That's a lot to take in. First, as I mentioned above, if Austin did write this letter, it seems like he really cares (or cared, who knows at this point) about Jen. At least before BB17, it appears he wanted to make things work and hopefully have a girlfriend once the competition ended. That still might be the case, but based on Austin's feelings and actions towards Liz, his prior relationship is totally going to be over once he exits the house. Plus, there's the fact that Austin declared he is done with Jen.
Second, his relationship seemingly had flaws. The letter almost comes off as Austin begging for his girlfriend to not make any hasty decisions regarding their relationship and to just give him one more chance. Well, if this letter was penned by Austin, he can count on not having anymore chances after this, but I don't think he'll care anyways.
Moving on, is anyone else furious at this line:
I will try my best to win it [Big Brother 17], but I want you to know that I will do it with class and with your honor in my mind. I will not do anything to embarrass you or myself and I hope that you will realize this as time passes.
Um, I wouldn't use "class" or "honor" to describe Austin when it comes to respecting his girlfriend. And not wanting to "embarrass" himself or his girlfriend? Yeah, that mission surely wasn't accomplished, because every time he appears on screen with Liz or talking about his new love, he embarrasses himself and his so-called girlfriend.
Even though there definitely seemed to be issues within Austin and Jen's relationship, it's still not OK how he dumped his girlfriend on live television, all while being all lovey-dovey with his new love Liz.
