Did John Stamos & Lori Loughlin Date IRL?

In Lifetime's Unauthorized Full House Story, we learned that Full House stars John Stamos and Lori Loughlin dated before they were co-stars and the best married couple on the iconic TV series. In the Lifetime movie, Lori Loughlin arrived on the set to begin shooting her role as Aunt Becky and everyone in the room seemed surprised that she and Stamos appeared to know each other. She clarified their relationship by saying: "We dated a few times years ago [when] we were just kids."

Although the pair certainly had onscreen chemistry, there was never a lasting love affair between Stamos and Loughlin — although they once did have the most Full House date one can have — aka one at the happiest place on earth. (Long live the Full House Disney episode.) John Stamos said the following during an interview with Huffpost Live:

We went on a date to Disneyland before we were both married. In real life, when we were 18, 19 years old... No disrespect to her family and her husband now, I would say that she could be the one that got away. She's one of my dearest friends, and that's good enough. I really do adore her.

However, his "one that got away" feelings may be a little one-sided. People quotes Loughlin as saying, "I don't think it ever entered our minds that it would be something more." Still, that Disneyland date must have been pretty epic if it left Stamos with so many lingering feelings. Can you blame him? Disneyland never crossed my mind as a potential date location before, but now it's my ultimate goal. If Disney doesn't scream romance, I don't know what does.
