Now You Can Wear Barbie's Dream Shoes

Barbie is making a trade: our flats for her heels. UK shoe designer Sophia Webster and Barbie are launching a shoe line this fall, featuring stylish stilettos and slip-on sneaks among other styles. That’s one un-elevated step for Barbie, and one giant step for shoe-kind, getting us that much closer to Barbie's dream closet.

There is so much to love about this collection, aside from the ground-breaking advancement in anything Barbie-labeled featuring a flat sole. Each shoe completely represents the iconic doll’s personality — with a Webster twist. You can expect to see a lot of her signature “B” monogramming and, what else, a variety of pink shades.

"Creating a shoe collection for Barbie has always been my dream project, but getting to be a part of her embracing flats for the first time made it extra exciting, and deeply personal," Webster stated in a recent interview with Vogue. "I love that this concept strikes a balance between dreams and reality — the idea of getting Barbie in some hi-tops and setting her loose in East London instantly appealed."

The collection features adult and children styles. Every woman's childhood fantasy of wearing a pair of hot pink pumps is now a reality as styles come in three variations of heels, two cross trainers and one pair of flat sandals, an obvious nod to Barbie's new adjustable ankles.

Barbie by Sophia Webster is set to launch in Selfridges London on Thursday August 27th, and will be available online at sophiawebster.com. Prices range from $125.00 to $690.47.
