Jared Fogle's Wife Is Filing For Divorce

Katie Fogle didn't waste any time. An hour after disgraced former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle appeared in court for charges of having sex with a minor and owning and distributing child pornography, his wife announced that she's filing for divorce from him.

"Obviously, I am extremely shocked and disappointed by the recent developments involving Jared. I am in the process of seeking a dissolution of the marriage," Katie Fogle — formerly Katie McLaughlin — said in a statement. "My focus is exclusively on the well-being of my children. Neither I nor my family will have any further comment on the matter. I appreciate respect for my family’s privacy during this difficult time."

The couple have two children together. On Wednesday, documents released by the U.S. Attorney's office revealed that Fogle has accepted a plea deal that involves him pleading guilty to charges of traveling to engage in sex with a minor, as well as receiving and distributing child pornography. Subway immediately and explicitly cut ties with Fogle — their 15-year partnership had been suspended since the FBI raided Fogle's house as part of a child pornography investigation in July. Prosecutors are pushing for Fogle to spend at least 12 years in prison. Fogle has said he'll concede to at least five years.
