What Old Hollywood Stars Look Like In Modern Ads

by Emma Lord

We were all budding Capri-Sun addicts as kids because duh, Capri-Sun was the coolest. But how much cooler would it have been if Elvis had been advertising it? That's exactly the kind of concept DesignCrowd explored when it opened a contest for artists to submit images of old Hollywood stars in modern day ads. We've got Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Audrey Hepburn, and a bunch more of your classic faves strutting their stuff in the new millennium, and it is as disorienting as it is AWESOME.

I'd like to think that this isn't a complete impossibility, when we perfect time travel or whatever cross dimensional fancy pants machine is required to go back to the good ole days of the silver screen and bring them back to 2015. I just think Marilyn Monroe and Cara Delevingne would be best friends, OK?! But hey, even though we'll never get to see it happen in real life, these designs are a pretty close approximation to it. Props to all of the designers who managed to pull this off, because it looks so legit that I can practically see it on the walls of a subway station in my head. Take a look at some of the winners:

Can we just take a moment to respect that incredibly strategic song use? Also I'm weirdly having glasses FOMO now.

I'm curious what we're going to photoshop Beyoncé and Taylor Swift into in the next 70 years. Probably ads for personal drone butlers and WiFi enabled crop tops. Eh, a girl can dream, can't she?
