It was announced yesterday at the the Metiers d'Art show in Dallas that Kristen Stewart would be the new face of Chanel. She will be the star of Chanel's 2013-14 'Metiers d'Art' Paris-Dallas collection, which will be shot by Karl Lagerfeld and released in May 2014.
For her big night, Stewart dressed in head-to-toe Chanel, wearing loose orange leather pants and a cropped sweater from the Spring/Summer 2014 Chanel show. It was definitely not the outfit I would've chosen to wear to announce the big news, but it was very much true to Stewart's laid-back sense of style, so for that, I applaud her. But her poses in front of the camera could still use a little bit of work.
Stewart first met the Kaiser in January 2012 for a photo shoot in Paris. Photos snapped after the shoot caused a bit of a stir when paparazzi caught Stewart standing behind Lagerfeld, giving the middle finger. Some questioned who was on the receiving end of it, many suggesting it was Lagerfeld himself.
Stewart will follow the footsteps of fellow actresses Diane Kruger, Blake Lively, and Keira Knightley who have previously starred in Chanel campaigns.
