'The Bachelorette's Nick Viall Should Join 'DWTS'

by Alexis Rhiannon

Oh, how things have changed. Around the middle of the last season of The Bachelorette, I would never have predicted that I'd say this, but we have got to get Nick Viall on Dancing With The Stars . Even if you aren't the hugest fan of the guy, I still need you to hear me out, because this is a very real thing we need to make happen.

First of all, I should get you caught up with who this dude is, because not everyone subsists solely on a diet of red wine and reality television like I do. Nick first made his way to television on Season 10 of The Bachelorette in 2014, where he made it all the way to the end in his quest for Andi Dorfman's heart, only to become the second runner-up. Not one to be deterred, he struck up a friendship with Kaitlyn Bristowe, who'd been eliminated by Chris Soules in Season 19 of The Bachelor. Kaitlyn then went on to become the Bachelorette herself for the show's 11th season, and after Nick showed up during filming in New York, she invited him to be a part of the show. Yadda yadda yadda, they had sex, it seemed like he was gonna win, and then he got second place. Again.

At this point the dude is a professional runner-up, so the least we can do is rustle up some sympathy for him. Whether you like him or not, he's now twice been dumped on national television, so wouldn't it be nice if he could dance around for a little while instead? Here are the seven reasons Nick Viall should be a contestant on the next season of Dancing With The Stars.

1. It Worked For Melissa Rycroft

She's another Bachelor contestant who didn't find love on the show, and her situation is actually even worse than Nick's, because Jason Mesnick actually picked her and proposed. And it was only during the airing of After The Final Rose that he realized he actually wanted to pursue the runner-up, Molly Malaney, to whom he's still married to this day. Ouchies. But then Melissa went on DWTS, and that's the moment that I consider to be a turning point in her life. Now she's married with two kids, so if it worked for her, it could maybe work for Nick Viall!

2. He Can't Go Back On The Bachelorette

Three times? Come on. No one would ever take him seriously.

3. And He Can't Go On Bachelor In Paradise

Since the episode where Kaitlyn sent him home didn't air until after BIP had wrapped filming, the risk of spoilers was too high to include him in the show. So that's another opportunity to find love down the drain!

4. He'll Probably Never Be The Bachelor

It hasn't been officially confirmed yet that Ben Higgins is the next Bachelor, but it seems pretty likely. And even if he isn't, it's super unlikely that Nick would be chosen because he was such a divisive contestant for the show's audience.

5. He Needs Something To Get Him Back In Bachelor Nation's Good Graces

And if there's one thing DWTS can handle, it's that.

6. It Will Get His Mind Off Of Kaitlyn

No better way to stop thinking about an unrequited love than throwing your body around on the dance floor!

7. It Has Less Talking

No shade, but that's really where our boy gets into trouble, so...

So did I do it, ABC head honchos? Did I convince you to give Nick Viall one more shot at love and life and reality television by adding him to the cast of the next season of Dancing with the Stars? I sure hope so!
