Kris Jenner Calls Kourtney Her "Hero"

by Jamie Primeau

As an avid viewer of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and all of its spin-offs, I've seen plenty of footage of Kris Jenner acting like an overbearing momager. But despite that, I think the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch gets a bad rap. Underneath the busy schedules and constant appointments, I believe there's an undeniable love for her famous family. Case-in-point? Kris Jenner recently praised Kourtney Kardashian's strength, and it's heartwarming to see her support her oldest daughter. In an interview with Haute Living New York, Jenner said,

She's kind of my hero right now — she makes good decisions. She always puts her children first and is accepting, loving, and dedicated to her family — she doesn't get easily ruffled. This situation has made me realize how strong she is.

In earlier seasons of KUWTK, Kris and Kourtney sometimes disagreed about what's best for Kourtney's family. But saying her daughter is strong and heroic really is great, especially since going through such a public break-up from Scott Disick can't be easy. Plus, Kourtney has three children — Mason, Penelope, and Reign — to look after, so she has a lot on her plate. Luckily, she's got a supportive family by her side, including Kris, of course.

Aside from talking about Kourtney's split, Jenner touched on plenty of other topics during the magazine interview. Here are a few highlights that may help you see Kris Jenner in a different, more compassionate light.

Kris Eats Breakfast With North West

Apparently Kris Jenner's granddaughter North West joins her for breakfast EVERY morning — which is absolutely precious. Jenner told Haute Living ,

It's the sweetest thing to see her run around the house with all the cousins and see how close they all are. It makes me so happy. When my kids are happy, I am happy.

It really is great that the family is so close.

She Wishes Caitlyn All The Best

While it's likely tough to talk about, Kris briefly commented on Caitlyn Jenner's journey, telling the magazine,

I just want everyone that I love in my family and in my life to be happy, and so my wish for Caitlyn is that she finds her joy.

Those words are perfectly short and sweet. Plus, this isn't the first time Kris publicly supported her ex-spouse.

Nope, not anything fancy. Jenner said, "Oh, my goodness, I am obsessed with Costco! We do runs at least twice a week. I love the salmon and rotisserie chicken, the dog beds." With dog beds and rotisserie chicken, what more could a person need?!

She's Not As Serious As You May Think

Setting the record straight, KJ told the magazine,

People just don’t get what a goofball I am. They see the business side and the crazy family side, but I have a lot of friends who I enjoying spending time with. We have some serious belly-laughing going on when together, and that is so good for the soul.

Glad to hear she does have a silly side after all.

Family Really Does Come First

Tying back into her support of Kourtney, Kris ended the interview with a focus on family. When asked what's her greatest luxury, she said,

Weekends with my kids. The memories of good times spent at our barbecues are stamped in my mind—playing tennis and swimming in the pool. I’m happy that my kids are now doing the same with their kids, and I still get to be a part of it. I feel lucky.

So there you have it! Kris Jenner truly does care about her family — she's not a reality TV robot, like some people may think. At the end of the day, she supports her loved ones no matter what.
