In an age where Tinder and like-minded dating (read: hook-up) apps reign supreme, it's hard to imagine two twentysomethings being in a committed, lasting relationship in 2015. With the convenience of a "swipe left" and a "swipe right," the old-fashioned days of meeting someone in a bar, at work, or even from childhood seem to be obsolete, yet this isn't the case in Hannah Fidell's 6 Years .

The film, which stars Taissa Farmiga, Ben Rosenfield, Lindsay Burdge, Joshua Leonard, and Dana Wheeler-Nicholson, chronicles a young couple in their early twenties, Dan (Rosenfield) and Melanie (Farmiga) who have been dating for six years. The young couple has known one another since childhood, and their now six-year long relationship is having its first real turbulent moments. Dan receives a dream job offer from the record label he's interning at, but he can't have both the job and the girl.

Perhaps it's an unlikely story of longterm love for today's millennials, but 6 Years will certainly resonate with anyone who has felt torn between two good things.
