It doesn't matter if you're a Jane the Virgin fan or not (though, if you fall under the latter category then you may want to think about reestablishing some of those life priorities), EVERYBODY should be excited about the fact that Gina Rodriguez is co-hosting the 2015 Teen Choice Awards. Because not only is she an incredible actress, but she's also a pretty fantastic person in general. If you need any convincing, just follow her on Twitter. Rodriguez is constantly interacting with her fans and posting inspirational messages that all social media users should aspire to emulate. In the words of Chandler Bing, "Could she BE anymore awesome?" And the answer to that is a simple one: No. No she could not.
Basically, what I'm really trying to say here is that this is a person everyone should want to know better, and hosting the Teen Choice Awards provides the perfect platform to go about doing just that. Of course, I'm also excited to see what her fellow hosts Josh Peck and Ludacris bring to the stage as well, however, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that my main love and attention will go to Rodriguez herself. That's because I know for a fact that she'll prove to be the hostess with the mostess. And I have plenty of proof to help back me up.
1. She's Not Afraid To Get Goofy
Above all things, a host's job is to entertain the audience and keep them interested in whatever's happening by any means necessary. Even if that means making a fool out of yourself for the sake of a laugh. Something tells me Rodriguez will have no trouble getting in touch with her silly side!
2. She's Great At Documenting Backstage Antics
We all know that sometimes it's way more interesting to see what's going on behind the curtain. Rodriguez knows this and has always been very good about documenting her various backstage shenanigans for fans. Why would the Teen Choice Awards be any different?
3. She's A Pro At Multi-Tasking
Actress by day, gator wrangler by night. With mad skills like those, she'll be able to juggle whatever hosting responsibilities get thrown her way.
4. The Nominees Love Her
And considering that she's about to spend two full hours with them, that's kind of an important ingredient to have. Developing a strong rapport with the nominees will make for an even stronger show.
5. Her Fashion Sense Is On Fleek
So not only will she captivate us with her personality, but she'll look amazing while doing it. Seriously, I want — no, I need — her wardrobe.
6. She Knows All The Right People
Now that's some good social networking right there. Girl, you are my hero.
7. Pretty Much Everything She Says Turns To Knowledge Gold
And we will all be better, smarter people for having her in our lives.
