Nick Jonas Will Premiere A New Single At The VMAs

I need a moment... or several: On Thursday morning, Nick Jonas announced his new single, "Levels," premieres on Aug. 21 via a steamy, dreamy Instagram video that’s guaranteed to make you swoon. In the brief but breathtaking clip, we watch as the hunky 22-year-old singer is startled awake by his alarm clock at 5:00 a.m. and begins to go through his morning routine. (Yes, before you ask, we do get to see Jonas get out of bed wearing nothing but a tank top and boxer-briefs, and yes, his chiseled arms do look like they could both crush steel AND hold you tenderly at night.) He tells us over coffee that he'll perform "Levels" live for the first time during the upcoming 2015 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show on Aug. 30. How exciting!

The promo spot ends with Jonas entering an elevator and removing his white terry-cloth bathrobe to reveal... a perfectly tailored tuxedo. (Well played, Nicholas. Well played.) He's ready to rock the VMA stage. I wonder what he has up his sleeves for the big performance? Actually, scratch that — I sincerely hope sleeves have nothing to do with it. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

He thinks he's slick.

As you may recall, Jonas debuted a new song called "Under You" at the iHeartMedia Music Summit in Burbank, Calif. on Tuesday last week. The tune was rumored to be the first offering from an upcoming rerelease of his 2014 self-titled album, but now, MTV is reporting that "Levels" is "likely the lead single" for an entirely new project. So, in other words... I'm not exactly sure what's going on at the moment! Hopefully all will be made clear very soon.
