'Zoolander 2' Trailer Raises So Many Questions
Looking for a way to escape mundane reality in pursuit of something deeper? Good news: the Zoolander 2 trailer has hit the web, and it's sort of the perfect way to escape reality and question where the universe came from — amongst a ton of other things. Unfortunately, the short Zoolander 2 teaser trailer — which reportedly leaked Friday night before being pulled from the Internet, then reposted shorly after — itself does not feature new footage from the upcoming Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson-starring comedy sequel, but it will leave you with a lot of questions about things you've probably only wondered when you were drunk. (Note: Wondering about these same things sober is a weird feeling.)
Instead of new footage from the upcoming film, the teaser features a look into the empty void of Derek Zoolander's mind, a very necessary discussion of sequel nomenclature, and asks some important questions, including "how is Derek Zoolander this stupid?" and "why did God make ugly people?" While it doesn't give viewers a strong sense of what we'll be seeing in the upcoming sequel to Zoolander, it gives us a good feel for the tone. This movie will clearly answer some important questions and favor serious exploration of life, human nature, and faith over jokes and gags.
From what I can gather from the cryptic nature of the trailer, here are the big questions Zoolander 2 might answer.
"What Was There Before The Big Bang?"
If Zoolander 2 can't answer this, what can?
"Why Are We Here?"
To be beautiful? Duh.
"Why Is The Human Brain So Advanced?"
And why are some not so advanced?
"Why Is Turning Left So Hard?"
We can't all be ambi-turners, I guess.
"Am I A Good 'Eugoogalizer'?"
I bet you didn't even think I knew what a "eugoogly" was!
"Why Do Sequels Style Themselves Like This?"
Good point Derek! It's not 200lander.
"How Can Derek Zoolander Be This Stupid?"
That's one question that might be too big for one movie.
Here's the trailer, with its myriad questions, in full. Zoolander 2 will hit theaters February 12, 2016.
