As if Potterheads needed another reason to adore Harry Potter, its author, and the actors who brought some of the most influential and inspiring literary characters to life. For those who don't know or need a reminder, July 31 is J.K. Rowling's birthday, and she happens to share birthdays with Harry Potter (FYI, Harry is now 35... WHOA). This Friday, Rowling turned 50. Happy Birthday, J.K.! To celebrate the author, a handful of Harry Potter stars wished Rowling a happy birthday with some truly magical messages. All of this came to be thanks to TIME asking the co-stars to write personal messages for Rowling. And yes, they're as amazing as you'd expect.
From the beloved Ron Weasley to my favorite Severus Snape to the loathed Dolores Umbridge (ahem!) to Neville Longbottom, many Harry Potter stars are sending their love to the author. In addition to wishing her all kinds of magical goodness on her special day, they thank her for creating the characters who made most of them famous and even got children exciting about reading.
Rowling is one empowering woman, and I, personally, thank her for bringing the world of wizards and witches to life. Can you imagine this world without Harry Potter? Me either.
