9 Fall 2015 Lipstick Colors Other Than Berry If You Want To Stand Out Come Autumn
Calling all lippie lovers! Rocking a berry lipstick is about to be in again. Among other fall beauty trends, the berry lip is the one I'm usually most excited for, since I have no shortage of products fitting that description. My favorite berry lipstick is a slightly darker version of the trend: NARS' Pure Matte Lipstick in Volga. I used to wear it every damn day when berry and dark vampy lips were all I could think about last year.
At the same time, I am always slightly disappointed when berry lips seem to dominate fashion every fall. To me, it's such an ordinary lip color that has been done many times over. Personally, I've had my eye on newer lip color trends, like gray, blue, and black.
Let's face it: We've all done the berry lip. I think it's time to try something new. Besides, it's always better to be ahead of the curve and a little bit strange than to be stuck following someone else's trends! Here are some lip colors to try out this fall that aren't berry-inspired.

Gray
A more versatile version of the silver, this color is certainly different while still providing a perfect muted tone to pair with a simple, elegant outfit.
NYX Macaron Lippies in Black Sesame, $6, nyxcosmetics.com
Gold
Now that you've tried silver, so why not try some gold too, right? Equal parts expensive-looking and party-ready.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Lip Color in Beige Gold Shimmer, $27, shop.nordstrom.com
Yellow
Itching to take an even bigger beauty risk? Forget the beauty rule of wearing darker colors in the fall and try a bright pastel yellow on your lips. Both the color and the shade’s name (Banana Milkshake) will keep summer fun alive deep into the autumn months.
KA’OIR Lipstick in Banana Milkshake, $18, kaoir.com
Green
Take it from someone who’s tried it: You will not regret test driving a dark green lip color. It’s still unconventional, but green will go perfectly with the color scheme of the holiday season.
NYX Wicked Lippies in Risque, $6, ulta.com
Royal Blue
Try out a truly royal color, and opt for a dark blue lip shade. Perfect to pair with fall coats and darker color palettes.
MAC Lipstick in Matte Royal, $16, maccosmetics.com
Blue
Dive way out of your comfort zone and try a pastel sky blue on your pout. Dark lips may be in for fall, but pastels have been a pretty big deal in beauty as of late as well. Relish in breaking all of the traditional fall beauty rules, and rock your bold pastel mouth with confidence.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Matte in Pool Boy, $18, beauty.com
Black
Yes, it’s black lip color, but it’s actually way more neutral than you would think. When applied to lips, it makes for the perfect demure dark lip that goes with anything. Plus your inner Hot Topic junkie will be ecstatic.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Witches, $20, sephora.com
Nude
Nude nails have been made popular again this summer, thanks to companies like NCLA. If you’re like me (obsessed with dark and bolder colors), stray from your norm a bit and try this tried and true classic lip trend.
