Tom Cruise Lip Sync Battle Vs. 'Risky Business'
Tom Cruise isn't a regular dad. He's a cool dad. Well, at least he is on camera. On Monday, Tom Cruise faced off against Jimmy Fallon in a lip sync battle, and he proved he could as easily perform a 2015 hit as a 1977 one. No, really. First, he had to tackle The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face" and followed that up was Meatloaf's "Paradise By The Dashboard Light." Let me tell you, if he was my dad, I'd start bringing him to parties and often. But, after all, it shouldn't really come as a shock considering his infamous Risky Business performance.
As E! Online notes, the actor even teased (and terrified) Fallon by insinuating that he might dust off his Risky dance moves as the beginning notes played for "Old Time Rock and Roll." So, with that in mind, how did his new lip syncs stack up against his most iconic one to date?
Before we take a look at the evidence, keep in mind that these days he's older, more reserved, and probably not as agile, so let's throw him a bone. Dude probably shouldn't be judged on things he has no control over, but rather, his commitment to the performance and his overall pizzazz whilst delivering it. Sure, he was far more clothed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, but he also didn't have the opportunity to prep for the big show like he did in Risky Business.
See for yourself.
The Prep
He's a bit more humble now, for sure.
The Intro
It's hard to beat that entrance, but look how much he's feelin' "Can't Feel My Face." Props, dude.
The Execution
He's like a fine wine. Older Tom may have just bested Younger Tom.
The Big Finish
Oof. I am an admittedly indecisive person, but I think we can all agree that 2015 Tom has far exceeded our expectations. And, didn't get nearly half the prep that 1983 Tom did.
So, who is truly victorious here? Us. Because we get to watch both of these performances on loop for the rest of eternity.
