As if getting rejected on national television wasn't bad enough, poor Nick Viall's family had to watch his heart get broken — twice, and from the front row of the live finale. Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to invite Nick Viall's family to The Bachelorette: After The Final Rose special? Maybe the show is hoping having Nick's adorable sister Bella in the audience will dissuade him from talking about sex like he did last year?
Who knows, but it was bittersweet to see them there. As one Twitter user pointed out, "Oh man, Nick's family looks like they're at a funeral." And, they kind of were. It was the funeral for Nick's love on The Bachelorette. A tad, dramatic, sure, but still. As much as Nick was destested by fans and contestants alike, no one deserves having their heart shattered on national television.
It's a little odd that the family of the runner-up is at the finale, but at the same time it makes sense. I mean, I'd want some moral support if I had to face my ex, her new fiance and a roomful of fans who basically hate me. I don't blame Nick for having his family there. Now, after he sees Kaitlyn again he can go see them afterwards and be reminded that he is loved — even if not by the girl he fell in love with.
But, at least Nick has his sister Bella to cheer him up. That little cutie could make any kind of heartbreak melt away with one little smile.
