One of the most important qualities a woman can have is confidence. But as science has confirmed over and over, confidence in women isn't as common as confidence in men. There is a confidence gap, so to speak.
Confident women approach everything differently. They're not just more successful in their professional lives, but in their personal lives, too. Their ability to see their self-worth and know they’re something great gives them the ability to handle situations, especially romantic ones, in ways that women who lack confidence just can’t. Confident women are strong and independent — the ultimate badasses.
While procuring complete confidence isn’t exactly the easiest thing in the world to do, once you get there, the change is real. You won’t stand for things in your relationship or dating life that you may have put up with before, and you’re not afraid to move on from something that doesn’t meet your personal standards. In other words, confident women don’t sell themselves short and aren't afraid not only to put themselves first, but also to love themselves first. And confidence is sexy as hell.
Because confident women run a fearless ship when it comes to everything in their life, all their relationships are better for it. Here are seven ways confident women do relationships differently.
1. They Don’t Doubt Their Value
According to research, of the 65,000 thoughts an average human has every day, 85 to 90 percent are negative. Confident women don’t waste their time on negativity. They can recognize their self-worth, and because of that, they’re likely to be an equal partner, as opposed to silent one.
2. They Have Better Sex
Sex is a major component in a relationship, and confident women know that. What they also know is that they’re hot. In feeling really comfortable in their skin and embracing their body, confident women just naturally have better sex. That confidence in their day-to-day lives spills over into the bedroom, making for one hell of a sexual confidence.
3. They Don't Sit Around Over-Analyzing Things
Many women are guilty of over-analyzing. From texts to facial expressions to “OMG, what did he mean when he said what he said ...” women who are lacking in confidence can wind up in self-created drama. Confident women's lack of self-doubt helps keep them from getting sucked into hours of the analytical game.
4. They Know How To Say "No"
According to a study by the University of California in San Francisco, confident people aren’t afraid to say "no" when something doesn’t suit them. What this means when it comes to relationships is that confident women don’t settle, and have zero fear when it comes to expressing their emotions.
5. The Never Lose Their Identity
When you’re in love, it can be really easy to lose yourself in it. Often — in new relationships, especially — people put their friendships on the back burner and devote so much of themselves to their partner that where they end and their partner begins is a blurry mess. Confident women don’t fall into that category; they keep themselves as separate entities. For them, never losing sight of who they are and what they want out of life and their relationship is always paramount.
6. They Can Admit When They Messed Up
It takes major cajones to admit when you’re wrong, but confident people have no problem in doing so. Not only are confident women not afraid to admit that they effed up, but they’re also not scared to be called out on it. Confident women welcome the chance to learn from their mistakes, and that in turn makes for a stronger and healthier way of dealing with conflict in their relationship.
7. They Walk Away When They’re Not Getting 100 Percent
What do all these factors come down to for confident women? They're not afraid to leave a relationship when things go sour or they feel they're not getting what they deserve. Confident women aren't scared to be on their own. Nor do they fear never loving or being loved again. Instead they take stock in what they've learned and wash their hands of it. Confident women know when to say "Bye, Felicia," and rarely look back.
