Last night (Oct. 17) saw Prince William host his first ever Earthshot Prize Annual awards Ceremony at Alexandra Palace and celebrity guests marked the occasion with standout sartorial choices, including a number of recycled and eco-friendly designs. Here are 8 noteworthy looks from the green carpet.

Leading by example, the Duke Of Cambridge’s recycled outfit consisted of a dapper dark green velvet blazer which he previously wore in 2019. The royal, who launched the event to celebrate those working to save the planet, was also wearing 20-year-old trousers. Now, that’s sustainable fashion.

The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a previously worn lilac Alexandra McQueen gown from 2011 for her husband’s event, reminding fashion lovers that a great purchase is made to be worn more than once.

Emma Watson is a vocal advocate for the environment and, for the green theme, she wore a recycled tulle gown made from 10 different dresses from Oxfam. In a bold style move, the Harry Potter actor, who presented awards on the evening, wore black trousers and leather boots underneath.

For the star-studded event, Dame Emma Thompson dusted off a sharp royal blue suit that she wore at another royal affair — the day she was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2018. Thompson also proudly showed off her royal honour on her blazer’s lapel.

Earthshot’s co-host Clara Amfo wore a white blazer with colourful patterns for the event. At the ceremony, the presenter said that helping the environment was “all about thinking differently” and later wrote on Instagram that she was “humbled” by the people she met on the night.
