Beauty
Frosted everything.

Remember the colorful eyeshadow palettes you could buy at Claire’s? In a selfie posted in the fall of 2020, actor Barbie Ferreira brings it all the way back to the early ‘00s in this chic recreation, featuring bold green lids.

Naomi Campbell is one of the biggest supermodels of the past few decades, so she’s seen (and worn) all sorts of beauty looks. Here at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, the star rocks a glittery red lip — a makeup style that was huge in the early ‘00s.
If you don’t remember piling on pounds of the most frosted pastel eyeshadow you could find, did you actually live through the aughts? Doja Cat brings it all the way back with this ice queen look, which she posted on Instagram earlier this year.
In a look that was so nostalgic and omnipresent in the early 2000s, Korean rapper Chaelin-Lee (aka CL) piled on the black eyeliner for this sultry Instagram shot from Nov. 2020.
In this brown and mauve glossy look posted on Instagram in Feb. 2021, Yara Shahidi looks like she just walked out of an Atomic Kitten music video—the ‘00s dream.
In Feb. 2021, Lana Condor wore a shimmery, glossy lip that is so reminiscent of the iconic Juicy Tubes that defined early ‘00s makeup — and she paired it with frosted pastel shadow with hints of shimmer (and pink hair!) for full nostalgia.
There was so much frost in the early aughts: frosted tips, frosted lips, frosted eyes. In an Instagram post from spring 2021, Dua Lipa uses shimmery lip gloss and eyeshadow to nail the nostalgic look.
