Selena Rocked Bold Brows For Her First Vogue Cover

by Marlen Komar

If you thought big, bushy brows were a passing trend, brace yourselves for this wonderfully bushy brown moment. Selena Gomez's April 2017 Vogue cover is all about the brows, and they are in their full, natural glory.

"The shoot, which took place in Los Angeles, finds Selena looking stunning as ever, wearing a two-piece Michael Kors Collection bralette and skirt and Jennifer Fisher hoop earrings," Teen Vogue reported.

Reclining on a velvet brocade chair and surrounded by tropical ferns, Gomez rocked a pink floral two-piece outfit. The pink, white, and orange tropical print also has a smattering of 3D floral embellishments. To tie it all together, Gomez wore dramatic, thick gold hoops that nearly swoop down to her shoulders and a fierce cat eye eyeliner that doesn't so much as wing but rather cuts with its razor-like straight angle.

Of course, what really brings the whole tropical slash vintage look together are Gomez's brows.

The brows appear to be filled out to look bushy and natural, with each stroke lightly feathered to mimic brow hairs. It's actually very reminiscent of Sophia Loren from the '50s, who used to shave off her brows completely and draw them back on with a pencil, feathering little hairs into an angled arch.

While you might think this is just another cover for Gomez, it's actually quite the milestone for her. While she's been featured on Vogue Brazil before, this is actually her first American cover — and according to the Vogue preview the issue, Gomez goes in-depth about her personal life and mental health.

It won't be long till we get to see the editorial, which will be sure to bring plenty of Gomez real talk and a lot more bold brow goodness. In the meantime, tide yourself over by rocking the same look and channel your inner Selena.
