Here's How To Get Free Krispy Kreme In February
There are few things better than the classic combination of hot coffee and a glazed doughnut on a cold winter's morning. Krispy Kreme knows this all too well — and accordingly, they are giving out free doughnuts with their brew this month! For those wondering how to get free Krispy Kreme in February, the answer is so sinfully simple: Beginning Monday, Feb. 6 and running through the end of the month, walk into any participating Krispy Kreme shop nationwide and receive one of their pillowy Original Glazed doughnuts with the purchase of any sized cup of their brand new coffee. That's right — Krispy Kreme is giving away a doughnut to dunk in every coffee (this is not a test), so get ready to be on a constant sugar and caffeine high.
The sweetness of doughnuts and the bitter acidity of coffee makes for the perfect pairing, but the North Carolina-based company — which has been in business since 1937 — has taken it one step further, reimagining their coffee blends specifically to compliment their pastries. “We have completely reinvented Krispy Kreme coffee from the bean to the cup, ensuring our customers’ beverage experience delivers the fresh quality and taste you always get from Krispy Kreme Doughnuts,” Chief Marketing Officer Jackie Woodward said in a press release.
On Wednesday, Feb. 1, the doughnut purveyor announced two new styles of brew for coffee snobs and caffeine addicts alike: Smooth and Rich. Both brews use 100 percent Arabica beans sourced from Sumatra, Colombia, Brazil, and Guatemala. The two coffees strive to match but not overpower the doughnuts, "offering light acidity to balance the sweetness and with nuttiness and citrus notes to complement the treats," according to a press release.
For those who prefer a light roast, the Smooth blend should be your first choice. This blend was created with the Original Glazed doughnut in mind, as a subtle coffee to match the sweetness of the pastry. "It’s a combination that’s deliciously inseparable, and we’re proud to say that our coffee is now doughnut-worthy," Woodward added. Krispy Kreme opts for beans from Central and South America to create a balanced coffee with a tangy sweet finish that's easy to gulp down on the way to work.
The "Rich" blend, meanwhile, is the heartier, bolder alternative for the more "sophisticated sippers" among us. The coffee is described as "an aromatic and flavorful medium-bodied blend of Central, African and Indo-Pacific beans," which sounds pretty good to me.
To see if the coffees' flavor profiles truly compliment the beloved doughnuts, head down to one of the brand's locations over the next few weeks. The promotion runs through Feb. 28, so there's plenty of time to try the new brew alongside a free doughnut. Think of it as an early Valentine's Day gift for yourself.
I guess I know what I'm having for breakfast every day this month!
