The highly anticipated Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That..., finally arrives Dec. 9. As you prepare to catch up with your favorite characters, here’s a look back at the ways the stars’ style, careers, and relationships have changed over the years.

Upon SATC’s 1998 premiere, Sarah Jessica Parker joked with Conan O’Brien about the tongue-twister dialogue that was Carrie and Big’s meet-cute. “See if you can say this quickly: ultra-textured Trojans with a reservoir tip.” Enter: one of TV’s most iconic (and volatile) couples.

Since SATC, Parker and Chris Noth have remained frequent fixtures on TV. Parker led the dramedy Divorce and several rom-coms while her on-screen flame has starred on Law and Order: Criminal Intent, The Good Wife, and The Equalizer.

Of course, we can’t forget about Aidan, the very kind craftsman who almost had Carrie’s heart. On a 2020 podcast, Parker wasn’t sure who she’d choose IRL. “I love John Corbett so much, and I loved Aidan ... The best of both worlds is, in fact, having your cake and eating it too.”

Yep, Corbett is just as dreamy today. In addition to appearing on And Just Like That... (because the one that got away never really goes away), he recently starred as Lara Jean’s dad, Dr. Covey, in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy.

Cynthia Nixon was a Tony-nominated actor three years before SATC — but in hindsight, she was just getting started. “I realized that my wonderful career that I thought was fully grown was still a puppy,” Nixon told Bustle last year.

After SATC wrapped in 2004, Nixon’s stayed busy with roles on screen and stage — picking up two Tony awards — and activism, including a 2018 New York governor campaign. And you can catch Steve’s David Eigenberg on Chicago Fire, where he’s starred for 10 seasons and counting.

It took years for Charlotte to find her match on SATC, but her event planner and eventual bestie, Anthony, was always there for the fallout. (He even eventually married Carrie’s friend, Stanford.) Like Charlotte herself, Kristin Davis grew her family via adoption IRL.

Charlotte ultimately got her happily-ever-after with her divorce lawyer-turned-husband, Harry. Today, you can find Davis in several Netflix projects, including her charming Christmas rom-com, Holiday in the Wild, and the thriller Deadly Illusions.

For their parts, Mario Cantone and Willie Garson return as Anthony and Stanford in And Just Like That... Garson starred on White Collar, became a father in 2009, and was able to film for the series before dying of pancreatic cancer in September 2021.

Sorry, Samantha fans (e.g., everyone): Kim Cattrall won’t be returning. “I wouldn't be any good doing something that I really didn't want to do,” she said on a 2020 podcast. But Cattrall’s still a familiar face on TV, from 2020’s Filthy Rich to next year’s How I Met Your Father.
