On their first trip to Northern Ireland as Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate visited Belfast’s Trademarket on Oct. 6, where they spiced things up by facing off in a cocktail-making challenge.

Their goal was to make a drink known as an Up the Lagan in a Bubble — which gets in name from a Belfast river and local slang — as quickly as possible.

The recipe is a little complicated and includes Brew & Yaki, gin, fruit tea cordial, sherry, umeshu, and lime, plus passionfruit boba and tapioca pearls, according to the Daily Mail.

Both Kate and William had some help on hand as they made their drinks.

William looked like he was taking it very seriously.

Kate, on the other hand, was all smiles, even as she proved once again that she has a competitive streak.

It was William who ended up finishing his drink first and technically winning the competition.

The result was contentious, though. Kate called out her husband early on, pointing out that he’d started before her, according to the Belfast Telegraph. Nonetheless, it looks like a good time was had by all.

The couple’s official Twitter account got in on the fun, too, sharing a clip and asking, “Who did it better?”

And yes, the Prince and Princess of Wales got to sample their hard work.
