21 Then Vs. Now Photos Of The Enchanted Cast In 2007 & The Disenchanted Stars In 2022

Enchanted’s long-awaited sequel Disenchanted has arrived, bringing back some of the OG cast members (who we’re pretty sure haven’t aged), along with some new characters for fans to fall in love with.

2007: Amy Adams returns as Giselle, a princess lost from her fairytale land Andalasia who ends up in Manhattan in New York City. This time around, she must face a new sort of reality: suburbia!

2022: The six-time Oscar nominee is thrilled to be back. “We were in the meeting with Disney, and I just flipped right back into it, talking about where I thought she was, and I realized that it was the right time,” Adams told Collider.

2007: Patrick Dempsey returns as Robert Philip, the formerly cynical divorce attorney who now has a baby with Giselle. This time around, he gets into more of the musical side of things.

2022: “The prep was the best part,” Dempsey told Entertainment Tonight, explaining he needed to find his voice. “To me, when you look back at the experience and that was the best part."

2007: James Marsden reprises his role as Edward, who has been crowned the King of Andalasia.

2022: He (unfortunately) doesn’t have as much screen time in Disenchanted, but he brings back the charm and goofiness we all fell in love with in 2007.

2007: Idina Menzel is back, too. Nancy, the new Queen of Andalasia, belts out a new song in the movie called “Love Power.” This totally makes up for her lack of song and dance in the 2007 movie.

2022: Marsden said that Menzel was “a good song partner in a sense that she’s going to make you sound good, but not a good song partner in that you’re just going to pale in comparison to her.” Relatable.

2007: Remember Rachel Covey, who played Robert’s daughter Morgan?

2022: Here she is now! Feel old yet? Covey doesn’t return as Morgan, BUT she has a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo in Disenchanted.

2007: Narrator (and actor) extraordinaire Julie Andrews narrated the 2007 movie. Since, she has lent her storytelling skills to the Netflix series Bridgerton and movie The King’s Daughter.

2022: Sadly, the veteran star didn’t return to set the scene for the sequel. However, she’s such a Disney icon we couldn’t leave her out of this story!

2022: Maya Rudolph joins the cast as Malvina Monroe, a rival for Giselle. “You always wish for moments in life where you could play with these characters that you fell in love with," she gushed about the role to Glamour, “but I actually got invited to play with these characters that I fell in love with.”

2022: Yvette Nicole Brown also joins the sequel as Rosaleen, one of Malvina’s friends. “My friend Marilyn Sue played the bus driver in Enchanted, and I was watching the film saying how it would be great to be a part of this movie,” she told BET of the full-circle moment.

2022: Glee alum Jayma Mays plays Ruby, who is Malvina’s other friend. She and Brown both give major evil stepsister vibes as they pal around with Malvina — just like the evil stepsisters in Cinderella with Lady Tremaine (IYKYK).

2022: Oscar Nuñez appears as Edgar, a coffee shop owner who is turned into the magic mirror Malvina consults to find out who has the most power. This request is quite the departure from asking who is “the fairest of them all.”

2022: Gabby Baldacchino portrays a grown-up Morgan this time around. Disenchanted is her big-screen debut.

2022: Locke & Key’s Kolton Stewart joins the cast as well as Tyson, Malvina’s son — and a love interest for Morgan.

2022: Name a cuter cast, we’ll wait.
