A real estate reality TV fan’s match made in heaven, Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae Young tied the knot on Oct. 23 in Miramar Beach, Montecito, California. Airing Dec. 16 on HGTV and Discovery+, Tarek & Heather The Big I Do follows the Flip or Flop and Selling Sunset stars to the altar.

A few weeks after meeting at a July 4, 2019, party, Young went on a date with El Moussa, who split from ex-wife Christina Haack in 2018. “I never planned on dating again. I didn’t plan on getting married,” he said. “I was adamant that I would be forever single, and here we are.”

During the pair’s one-year anniversary trip to California’s Catalina Island, El Moussa surprised Young with a “magical” beach proposal. “The sun was setting, the sky was on fire, she said, ‘Yes,’ all the boats are honking their horns,” he recounted. “It was the most special moment.”

“Planning a wedding, it’s really difficult, and it’s really just like a house,” the HGTV star said of the last-minute date, venue, and flower changes that preceded their “I do’s.” “You think you make up your mind on something, then you start thinking about it, then you change.”

“Thank you for my beautiful life, and thank you for this beautiful day,” Young began her vows, wearing a Galia Lahav-designed gown. “You’ve given me such a beautiful family, and you’ve trusted me to help you raise Tay and Bray. I love you more than the world. You and me forever.”

Celebrity guests in attendance included Flip or Flop’s Jeff Robinson, as well as Mary Fitzgerald, Romain Bonnet, Emma Hernan and Davina Potratz of Selling Sunset. Though Chrishell Stause was notably absent from the special, she did attend the ceremony. Of the newlyweds, Hernan said: “She’s the jelly to his peanut butter.”
