After a nine-month engagement, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari got married June 9. The wedding took place at the couple’s Thousand Oaks home, but it was far from a casual backyard affair.

“We really wanted to make this a small and beautiful moment with family and friends,” Spears told Vogue. “We wanted warm and feminine colors including blush, white, cream, and gold, and a lot of various shades of pinks, blush, and reds.”

According to wedding stationery, the event was unplugged for Spears and Asghari’s privacy.

The star-studded guest list included Donatella Versace (who designed the couple’s wedding looks, and Spears’ reception fits) as well as Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, and Madonna. Spears’ parents and sister were not present, per People.

Spears walked herself down the aisle, according to People. Her choice of music for the big moment? Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” a song she actually covered on Instagram in 2017, so clearly, it’s been a personal fave for a while.

Asghari tried on his wife’s wedding veil — nine months after first popping the question to Spears. As he told Access, it was an “extravagant” and “surprising” proposal, surrounded by the couple’s dogs.

It seems that dancing till the world ends (or at least, the reception) was very much the mood for the evening. Spears was photographed dancing with her celebrity friends, who, at one point, even toasted her with a cover of Madonna’s “Vogue.”

Gomez wore a blue jumpsuit for her solo moment on the dance floor. According to Vogue, “Toxic” and “Stars Are Blind” were among the songs that played throughout the evening.

Spears and Madonna did more than dance together. The friends actually recreated their 2003 MTV Video Music Awards kiss during the reception.
