In news that makes my eyes roll so much I worry they may fall out of my face, Chris Brown went on a misogynistic rant about Adrienne Bailon. OK, that may have been a slight exaggeration on my part, but seriously, Brown's rant couldn't be more disappointing. It's especially awful (yet not surprising) since he has a history of treating women with little respect. This particular blow-up happened after Bailon made a comment about Brown and his on-again/off-again relationship with girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, on her talk show The Real with co-host Tamar Braxton. Brown didn't like this one bit, so he posted (and has since deleted) an incredibly insulting rant on Instagram. Here is an excerpt:
ADRIENNE BAILON…. You ole trout mouth ass b****. U tried it. Won’t u the same b**** that was f***ing wit married men? U also was keeping up with the Kardashians! U can’t talk about relationship goals when u don’t even have life goals. Ain’t you a cheetah girl? Last time u was important n****s was riding spinners and wearing 6x talk Ts. You the same b**** having threesomes like the rest of these hoes.
With all those asterisks, it's like translating morse code, but you get the idea. He said a lot of terrible, horrible things. One key thing that sticks out (aside from the fact that he knew she was a Cheetah Girl aka that means he must've watched those movies too!) is the fact that he says "U can't talk about relationship goals when u don't even have life goals." That's completely untrue! Bailon has made a successful career for herself. It doesn't matter if she dated Rob Kardashian, because she was successful before that, and continues to be after their break-up. Just like how Brown didn't want his relationship talked about, he shouldn't judge Bailon for who she dated either.
In case anyone needs a refresher (besides Brown), here's a list of all the ways Bailon proves she has some serious life goals.
Got Her Start in 3LW
Remember 3LW? They were 3 Little Women who made music in the early 2000s. Fun fact: I once sang "No More (Baby I'ma Do Right)" in the 5th grade talent show, so they'll always hold a special place in my heart. Anyway, Bailon was only 17 when this girl group got its start. Being a teenage singer is no easy feat, yet she still made a name for herself.
Acted in Cheetah Girls
The girl power didn't end when 3LW split. Instead, Bailon went on to make three Disney movies for the Cheetah Girls series. She proved she can sing, dance, and act — making her a triple threat.
Appeared on That's So Raven
Bailon played Alana, the mean girl. Essentially she was the Regina George to Raven's Cady Heron. In addition to her stint on the Disney show, she began racking up more roles for herself. She also appeared in Coach Carter and MTV's volleyball movie All You've Got.
Recorded Her Own Music
In 2009, she was signed to Def Jam records. She recorded two songs that were featured on the soundtrack for Confessions of a Shopaholic. This proves she not only succeeds in a group, but can be a solo artist as well.
Starred on Empire Girls
This reality show from 2012 focused on Bailon and her friend Julissa Bermudez trying to take their careers to the next level in NYC. It didn't last very long on the Style Network, but it's still pretty great she got her own show — without the Kardashians, thank you very much.
Hosting The Real & Nail'd It
Currently Bailon is still doing her thing on TV. As previously mentioned, she's on a talk show called The Real (which is how this whole Chris Brown debacle began). She also just started starring on Oxygen's series Nail'd It which is a nail art competition show. Wait, where can I sign up for that!?
After that exhausting list, I can't see how Chris Brown believes Bailon has no life goals. She's proved she's more than just a Cheetah Girl and will likely have a long career ahead of her. (Although let's be real, she'll always keep that cheetahlicious spirit!)
