Do You Know These 42 Ways To Make Ramen?
If you are now or recently were a college student, then you understand the importance of ramen noodles in your life — and as someone who fits this description, I'm so excited to tell you about this new poster that lists 42 different kinds of ramen. That's right, 42. I was only familiar with the instant version of ramen that we cooked in our dorm's microwaves, but it turns out that there's way more to the Japanese noodle dish than that — far from being a food only consumed by broke college students in dorms, ramen is actually a dish with regional variations that can be found all over Japan and the rest of the world. And there seems to be an endless amount of variations on the food that can make for a delicious dinner any day of the week.
This poster is the brainchild of a ramen fan named Fanny — and this isn't the first time she's designed a poster dedicated to her favorite food. Fanny's previous work featured 25 different ramen variations; her new version is a revision that nearly doubles the amount of ramen options depicted. Fanny is a passionate lifelong fan of ramen — growing up, she loved ramen and was always looking to try new recipes out. She writes on the Kickstarter page for the ramen poster that
"After designing for the first ramen poster, I was exposed to many types of ramen that I finally got to try for the first time such as Tori-Paitan (ramen with a rich chicken broth that was made similar to Tonkotsu style) and Ramen Burger. (Grilled ramen buns sandwiching roast pork, scallions, and other ramen toppings)."
This inspired her to include them in her new design, so that people like you and I can enjoy knowing about these wonderful creations.
And this poster is more than just cool decor. I know that being pretty much broke in your early 20s doesn't translate well into entertaining guest at your home — there just isn't enough money to invite people over for dinner. Until now. Take inspiration from this poster, and see how you can afford to make different exciting variations on this college favorite, without spending all of your rent money (okay, lets be real, your bar money). I've been looking these little guys over, and not only do they look delicious, but they are simple to make. And as the best foods are a treat for both your eyes and your palate, the gorgeous presentation on all the dishes is sure to win over some points with family and friends. Check out some of my favorite parts of this helpful poster.
1. The Design
Just look at that! You can use it as a handy menu for friends and family or just hang it on your wall as decorative center piece. Either way, it looks really nice. I love the design that looks simple from afar, but when you get up close, reveals the intricacies of the plating. Did I ever think I would write those words about ramen noodles? Never. But here we are.
2. The Individual Dishes
Once you get up close and personal, you can get inspiration from the ingredients and plate design. Honestly, this is the best way to amp up your food options without breaking your bank account.
