Prince William and Kate Middleton’s newly released wedding portrait is already familiar to eagle-eyed royalists. On April 29, the Prince and Princess of Wales marked their 13th wedding anniversary by unveiling a supposedly unseen photograph from their royal nuptials in 2011.

Taken by the couple’s favored photographer, Millie Pilkington, the black-and-white image shows the newly married royals posing inside Buckingham Palace on their special day. “13 years ago today,” William and Kate captioned the portrait on their official social media pages.

The photographer also commented on the photo’s release, writing, “Happy wedding anniversary! Can’t believe it’s been 13 years. Remember this moment so well. Sending you both much love on this special day.”

However, some royal spectators had spotted this image back in 2017, when Prince William and Lady Gaga teamed up for a video call in support of the Heads Together campaign. (Launched in 2016 with the help of Prince Harry, the Heads Together initiative aims to tackle mental health stigma by “changing the conversation” on the subject.)

According to People, the 2017 video was filmed from Lady Gaga’s California home and William and Kate’s former primary residence, Kensington Palace in London.

In the video, the wedding portrait was briefly shown behind William’s laptop, seven years before it was officially released by the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The Prince and Princess of Wales tied the knot on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey in London. Between 2013 and 2018, the royal couple welcomed three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

In 2023, William and Kate also celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary with a never-before-seen photograph, which showed the couple posing with their bikes during a ride through Norfolk, England.
