Charlotte Owen is the Editor in Chief of Bustle and Elite Daily, where she acts as the creative and strategic lead to a team of 50 writers and editors.
Charlotte joined BDG in 2018 to oversee the launch of Bustle UK, before relocating to New York in 2020 to oversee Bustle globally. Under her leadership, Bustle has received a Webby Award, a Newswomen’s Club of New York Front Page Award, and the 2023 Digiday Award for Media Brand of the Year. While editing the UK site she also received a Folio award for Best Brand Extension. In 2020, she was a finalist for a Digiday Future Leader Award.
Charlotte started her career at Vanity Fair where she remained for over six years, serving as a Managing Editor on the annual art issue and Digital Strategy Editor for the British section of VF.com. Her writing has appeared in Vogue, The Independent, and Metro, and she has served as a judge for the Digiday Media Awards and the National Magazine Awards.
Originally from Birmingham, England, Charlotte is a graduate of the University of Oxford, where she studied History and English Literature. She enjoys wine and good books, and is based in New York.
