An Engagement Made In TV Drama Heaven?
In news that makes me so happy I could cry, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester are engaged — yay! These two teen drama darlings have decided to become husband and wife, and as a die-hard teen drama fan, there is nothing more exciting that hearing that Seth Cohen of The OC and Blair Waldorf of Gossip Girl are tying the knot. An Upper East Side princess falling for the comic-book-loving Californian? My heart skips a beat just thinking about it. I mean, hi, this is prime crossover material! Words cannot even express how much I want this to really be a thing.
I've always thought that the nerdy-cute Seth Cohen would have made the perfect match for the uptight-but-fabulous Blair Waldorf, and hearing that their real-life counterparts are getting married just makes me jump for joy inside. Of course, there are some problems with this fantasy match. Obviously, no one is a better match for Seth Cohen than Summer Roberts, and you're basically insane if you have ever really questioned that. And while I'm not totally Team Chair (simply because I'm not thrilled with the prospect of a relationship built on mind games and questionable morals) I know that Blair and Chuck would always be endgame.
But let's just say that we live in a fantasy world where these two love interests never existed. Couldn't you just see a Blair Waldorf/Seth Cohen relationship happening? I can. And here's how it would go.
SETH COHEN AND BLAIR WALDORF: A LOVE STORY
Seth Cohen heads to New York City for Comic Con. He's excited because he was able to see all of his favorite panels.
Blair Waldorf is having brunch.
Seth Cohen leaves Comic Con and goes to grab a bagel, because he's heard that New York bagels are like, really, really great.
... And it turns out that the bagels are even better than he thought! So he eats four.
Blair, of course, just can't help but roll her eyes at the brunch-eating California import. She throws all of the shade.
Seth realizes that he just embarrassed himself in front of the cutest girl eating brunch...
...so he introduces himself...
...and offers her a flower from his table.
But Cohen just won't stop rambling, and Blair just wants him to stop talking...
...which just means that Seth is going to act even more awkward around her.
But little does Blair know that it's Seth Cohen's awkwardness that makes girls fall madly in love with him. (It worked for the millions of girls watching The OC).
What is this strange pull that Seth has over her?
But Blair decides that, because he is a lowly comic-book geek and not up to her standards, that they should just be friends.
But Seth is falling for Blair. He can't just be her friend!
But Blair isn't ready to give up her Upper East Side status yet to be with Cohen...
But Seth won't give up on Blair so easily.
And that's when Blair has a revelation. Seth is perfect for her!
Blair is going after Seth!
Yeah! Seth gets the girl!
And they lived happily ever after!
