The Pizza Topping To End All Pizza Toppings

by Kathryn Kattalia

Pepperoni, cheese, and heck, even pineapple are all OK pizza toppings if you're feeling especially basic, but one Brooklyn restaurant has decided to throw caution to the wind and give the people what they really want — you can now order "Mini Vinnie" pizza topped with more pizza at Vinnie's Pizzeria in Williamsburg, and then you can die happy knowing that you really have seen and tried it all.

Imagine it, if you can: an enormous slice of pizza dripping with sauce, cheese, and more pizza. A tad redundant? Maybe. But then again there's really no such thing as having too much pizza, am I right? (And if there is, someone please tell me where to draw that line, because I've been known to down an entire medium Domino's pie myself over the course of one evening #lifegoals.) A single slice of Vinnie's meta masterpiece comes topped with up to four mini slices of pizza, which means you don't even have to go back for seconds because it's all being served up at the same time on one glorious piece of crust. Is that genius, or is that genius?

Here's what this pizza sorcery looks like. Warning, it's not for the faint of heart:

What's that? You want to see this beauty up close? Certainly not a problem.

So what comes next? Pizza topped with pizza rolls? Pizza topped with pizza bagels? Pizza topped with mini pizza topped with more mini pizza? Or have we finally achieved peak pizza bliss? A sort of cheesy, saucy nirvana that can never be topped? I suppose only time will tell.

In case pizza on pizza is a little too much for you to handle, Vinnie's daily specials change on the reg, with something to tickle your fancy no matter what your interests: there's the Writer's Brocc pizza (broccoli, sun-dried tomato, feta, and balsamic vinegar) to help you get your creative juices flowing, the Don-Caper (capers, tomato, soy cheese, and soy "Jon Hamm") for people still grieving the loss of Mad Men, and the Oreo-gon Trail pizza (a dessert pizza topped with Oreos, natch) for when you're feeling particularly nostalgic for a good time.

But honestly, the more I think about it, pizza topped with pizza rolls doesn't sound half bad. In fact, I'd even say it's the obvious next step. Can someone please make this a reality?
