Olsen fans' hearts, be still: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen arrived at Met Gala 2015 dressed in coordinating all black gowns. It's safe to say that these are two of my favorite looks of the evening (and it's not just because I am obsessed with them). Ashley stunned in a low v-neck dress with pouf-y sleeves and lace detailing, while Mary-Kate made jaws drop in a fur-lined black-sleeved coat dress. I can't decide who looked more fabulous.
Coming into tonight, I was confident that the twins would nail the Met Gala theme, "China: Through The Looking Glass," in a chic, yet respectful way. The verdict? I was right, because Mary-Kate and Ashley NEVER let me down. Although there isn't anything too blatantly Chinese-inspired about both of their ensembles, both dresses seem to be made with Chinese silk, paying homage to the culture being honored tonight. I also love that they kept their makeup and hair simple; Mary-Kate with a trendy half-bun, half-down look, while Ashley rocked her traditional slicked down middle part.
Last year, the always fashionable sisters showed up in complementary ensembles — Mary-Kate in a golden-buttoned gown with a train, while Ashley rocked a striped, belted black and white gown. And while last year's gowns were beautiful, they were a little more predictable, in my opinion. What I love most about their outfits this year is how unique they both are, compared to what we usually see on the two. The only thing that could make it better is if little sister Elizabeth Olsen would've joined the duo to make a trio.
