Gordon, the eyeless Inhuman who shepherds descendants to and from "Afterlife" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is already on Director Coulson's radar. Could Coulson and Gordon team up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. when they finally meet? This enigma of a character (with an accent I have not yet been able to define) recently debuted in Marvel comics, meaning he is brand new to this universe after all. As for any Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Gordon spoilers, the show is playing it pretty coy. However, I think I may have a hunch about when we'll see Gordon join the S.H.I.E.L.D. vs. Hydra fight. According to the official ABC press release for the upcoming episode "The Dirty Half Dozen," "Gonzales and Coulson must find a way to put their differences aside and work together against Hydra, even if it means teaming up with someone they don’t trust."
This reminds me of Star Wars, when they have to team up with Lando Calrissian to save Han Solo. But here's the thing: there are more than enough people that Gonzales and Coulson don't trust running around in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. universe. This could mean anybody. It could be referring to Grant Ward. They could be seeking the help of Hydra Agent Sunil Bakshi, or Calvin Zabo — presuming he is let out from wherever the Inhumans are hiding him. All that said, I think this clue points to an Inhuman. They've been on the fringe for too long and it's time to pick a side.
I'm also wondering about the episode title "The Dirty Half Dozen." Who are the six people it's referring to? My best guess would be Coulson's rogue team, which includes Lance Hunter, Deathlok, and possibly Grant Ward already. That's definitely a ragtag bunch. Could Gordon be one of its final members?
We learned in the season premiere that the Strategic Science Reserve collected a Kree body from Hydra, and that Hydra was looking into the same Kree temple that Coulson and Skye uncovered. We also know that Gordon met Jiaying before she was apprehended by Hydra the second time. These entities are already intertwined.
The focus of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has moved away from Hydra for the time being while the organization gathers strength and finds a new leader. Once they do, the good guys will need some new allies. How could Gordon help the old S.H.I.E.L.D. and the new? We saw his combat skills in "Afterlife" against Calvin Zabo. He clearly has a lot of information. He's also, plainly put, great for quick escapes. However, he is both mysterious and powerful. That's enough for super spies like Coulson and Gonzales to raise their suspicions. However, just like Skye, he could be an asset.
I hope we get to see Gordon lend a hand to S.H.I.E.L.D. It would be a major step in uniting all of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. factions and provide a lot of answers.
