The Pros & Cons of Living Near Kimye

by Sam Rullo

In a hilarious rumor that combines Hollywood's most and least talked about celebrities, Naughty But Nice Rob reports that Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prize Jr. put their house up for sale when they learned that their new neighbors would be Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Remember that enormous house we saw Kim buy just to completely redo on Keeping Up With the Kardashians? Apparently, it's in the same Bel-Air neighborhood as the home of Gellar and Prinze Jr.—who is obviously the true fresh Prinze of Bel-Air.

If the story is true, it kind of makes sense. Gellar and Prinze Jr. have two young children, and Kimye moving in just means a whole pack of paparazzi will follow. On the one hand, Kimye moving in could lower some property values, but on the other, they could potentially make the neighborhood into a spectacle that's just fun to be around.

With Kardashian and daughter North staying at her mom's house until the renovations are done, neighbors of the future Kimye lair still have some time to decide whether to sell or stay there. To aid in their envy-inducing decision, here are some of the pros and con-yes that have to come along with being Kimye's neighbor.

Pro: Awesome Visitors

Taking the dog for a walk? Watch out for Jay-Z and Beyonce escorting Blue Ivy from the car to her BFF North's house. Kids riding their bikes? Tell them to let you know if they happen to see Oprah admiring the landscaping. Not to mention the amazing odds of encountering Scott Disick on a frequent basis — aka living the dream.

Since both halves of Kimye are ridiculously famous, they tend to attract paparazzi attention. It has to be annoying to live somewhere surrounded by crowds with flashing cameras. When Kimye aren't around, the paps will probably bother whoever else is around, instead. And if any neighbors do decide to move, I wouldn't be surprised if some tabloids suddenly decide to invest in real estate.

"Psst, Kim! It's me, Mom! Kim it's your momager! Do you want to go shopping? Kim are you in there? Let's book a Playboy shoot. When did you change the passcode to the front gate?" That's probably what you'll hear coming from what sounds like the bushes in front of the Kimye Kompound everyday.

Pro: A Front Row Seat to Kardashian Drama

Wanna know what the Kardashians up to? Live near one of them and I'm sure it won't be hard to tell. If Kendall or Kylie Jenner ever gets into a fight with their mom they may run to Kim for help, or Khloe might need a place to hide from the Lamar Odom drama. Just keep an eye out for who shows up, and listen for any yelling.

Based on the anger and intensity of his tweets, I imagine that Kanye yells as he writes them. Would you want to be woken up in the middle of the night by the sounds of a man screaming "NO DISRESPECT TO BEN AFFLECK"? It could be a little jarring.

Pro: You'll Definitely be on E!

Between all of the conversations held while driving, establishing shots and time-fillers, any one who lives within a ten-mile radius of Kimye should show up in the background of a future Keeping Up With the Kardashians episode. If you're lucky, they'll linger long enough to show you getting the mail.

Well, only when Kanye's home so maybe not 24/7, but we all know that when Kanye relaxes, he likes to listen to his own music. That theory has actually been confirmed by Aziz Ansari, who had an interesting experience while at a party at Kanye's old house.
