Michelle Obama Challenged Ellen To A Dance-Off

by Alexis Rhiannon

Did you wake up today and hope you came across some proof that Michelle Obama is the coolest First Lady we've ever known? Probably not, because I feel like she's made that abundantly clear over the past six years, but in case you were still on the fence and needed something to push you over, Michelle Obama challenged Ellen DeGeneres to a dance-off during a recent episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. A DANCE OFF.

Michelle's appearance on the show was in conjunction with her Let's Move program, which encourages Americans to get active and lose weight, and she told Ellen about her plan for the Easter egg roll on the White House lawn this year, where she's going to have So You Think You Can Dance choreographers teach everyone a dance. And as a little taste of that, she and Ellen got up and performed a little ditty to "Uptown Funk", a song I've personally been listening to on repeat for months now.

The dance isn't particularly complicated, I just love the rapport these two women have going, and the way they rib each other. You can tell they're both so happy to be there and hang out with each other and I just love it so much! For future reference, you know you've made it when you can tell the First Lady that you're more in shape than her and have her laugh instead of call a Secret Service member over to slap you on the wrist.

UGH I CAN'T. Just look at her! Coolest. First Lady. Ever. Not that there was much competition, I guess, since "cool" isn't really a term you come across all that often in politics, but she's still killing it.
