Gigi Hadid Is Officially Model Of The Year
It wasn't so long ago that Gigi Hadid was living a typical teenager's life in sunny California. Fast forward a year later and she's starred in the pages of Tom Ford ads, V Magazine, and even on Chanel's runway shows. And it doesn't stop there — this past year, Hadid landed a major Guess campaign and recently was named the new face of Maybelline. It's safe to say she's killing it. On Thursday night, Gigi Hadid will be named model of the year at the first ever Daily Front Row Fashion Los Angeles Awards.
Hadid was actually discovered as a toddler by Guess' Paul Marciano, where she started modeling for Guess Kids. As she grew older, volleyball and horseback riding became her main interests, and modeling fell by the wayside until years later, when she signed with IMG models at 17 years old. And after Hadid piqued the interest of Parisian goddess Carine Roitfeld herself, Hadid landed covers on Harper's Bazaar and CR.
Roitfeld told Style.com, "I knew immediately that she was going to be a star. It is not just the look or the personality, but the feeling you get when you meet them." Hadid quickly won the respect and love of many, and her list of accomplishments only keeps growing. This spring, she'll be front-running Guess' campaign once again, celebrating her 16th anniversary with the company.
The Daily Front Row Fashion Los Angeles Awards will take place at the Sunset Tower Hotel and will honor fashion's contributions to Los Angeles. Attendees will include Jeremy Scott for Womenswear Designer of the Year and Christian Louboutin for Shoe Designer of the Year. And even the presenter lineup is star-studded, with celebs like Drew Barrymore, Ciara, and Kanye West.
Congrats and cheers to you, Gigi!
