There are a lot of wonderful things that I enjoy about the holiday season. Eating a ton of delicious food… reuniting with family and friends… drinking excessive amounts of red wine without judgment. And did I mention the whole eating delicious food thing? Because that’s just the best. However, all of this merriment comes with one major downside: given that Thanksgiving always occurs on a Thursday, that means pretty much all of our favorite TV shows are on hiatus. And NBC’s hit drama Parenthood is no exception. That’s right, folks: Parenthood will not air on Thanksgiving this year.
It’s kind of ironic, really. Just when you are guaranteed to have enough time off to tune into your favorite shows, they are nowhere to be found. But I guess that’s to be expected since the networks probably know they wouldn’t fare so well in the ratings department on account of people usually opting to spend quality time with family over watching copious amounts of television. (Who knew? Not me.)
So if you were planning on switching over to NBC at 10 p.m. this Thursday night, don’t bother. Well, unless you’re a football fan, which is what will be airing in Parenthood’s place. So if that’s the case, by all means, go ahead. But the Bravermans will most likely not make an appearance out on the field, so we’re going to have to wait even longer to find out Zeek’s fate and Joelia’s future. (I know, I’m not thrilled about it either.)
But in the meantime, I thought it would be fun to try and predict what the Braverman clan would be up to this Thanksgiving. They may not appear on our small screens, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still envision how this lovable family would (or at least should) choose to spend their holiday.
Sarah & Amber Should Watch Gilmore Girls
OK, so I know that this couldn’t actually happen considering worlds would be colliding, but take logic out of the equation for a minute and think about just how awesome this would be. I mean, when it comes to mother-daughter bonding experiences, you really can’t do much better than this. Copper boom!
Joel & Julia Should Start Having an Affair… With Each Other
Sure, they’re now technically divorced, but that steamy kiss they shared last week proves that they’re love story isn’t quite finished yet. Imagine if the two of them started having a secret “Chandler and Monica-style” fling for a while until they figured out if their hearts want the same as their hormones. Which, let’s not kid ourselves, they totally do.
Adam & Kristina Should Host the Thanksgiving Dinner
Since Zeek and Camille sold their old house, I think it’s time Adam and Kristina’s place became the designated go-to place for all big family occasions, holidays included. Granted, it’s bound to get a little stressful at times, but hey — that’s just part of the whole Thanksgiving experience: football, food, and fighting!
A Braverman Dance Party Should Inevitably Ensue
Because there’s just no stopping that Braverman “Fever.”
