Aniston's My Patronus When It Comes to Dating
We've all been heartbroken, lost in love, or maybe just dabbled in dating at one time or another, and Jennifer Aniston knows what's up when it comes to all of this. She knows the perils of balancing dating life with a work schedule. From pedaling lotion as the face of Aveeno, working on her salty-sweet fragrances, filming movies without make-up, and hedging rumors about her and her madly in love fiancé Justin Theroux, it's safe to say that Aniston would serve as an excellent Wise Woman on the Mountain Top when seeking some love advice. Ever since she became our sweetheart as Rachel Green on Friends, the public's been very protective of her. We've watched her date musicians and Lotharios — John Mayer comes to mind and actually checks both boxes — we worried as she went through a rather public divorce with Brad Pitt, and we speculate about every man she's with.
People continue to start rumors and push her relationship with Theroux, wondering when they'll set their wedding date, because for some reason everyone thinks Aniston needs a marriage to be happy. It's nice that everyone just wants her to be happy, but when I think of the Cake actress, I don't think of someone who needs to marry or have kids. No, I think of her as knowing what she wants and going after it, and I know that because judging from her quotes about love, J. Aniston keeps it real.
That It's Feeling Vulnerable
“The greater your capacity to love, the greater your capacity to feel the pain." — to O, The Oprah Magazine
That You Give Yourself the Best Advice
“Really try to follow what it is that you want to do and what your heart is telling you to do.”
That There's No Better Caffeine Kick
“I love that feeling of being in love. The effect of having butterflies when you wake up in the morning. That is special.”
That It Won't Fix Your Life
“A relationship isn't going to make me survive. It’s the cherry on top." — to Rolling Stone
That It's Never a Negative
“There are no regrets in life, just lessons.”
That the Best Kind is within Yourself
“Once you figure out who you are and what you love about yourself, I think it all kinda falls into place.”
That It Smells Good
“The best smell in the world is that man that you love.” — to People magazine
That It's Being with Your Best Friend
“Just finding somebody that was your best friend, who you could be with and enjoy the passage of time — and that’s what I found.”
Thank you, Jennifer Aniston. You can look stellar being sans make-up in a film, rule a country with your hip-happening hair cut, and still impart some hearty love advice along the way. That Rembrandt's song was right: you will be there for us. Even when the rain starts to fall.
