Another Disturbing Update From June's Daughter

Another shocking update has come out of the story of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star June Shannon allegedly dating registered sex offender Mark McDaniel: Reports that McDaniel's victim was June's oldest daughter, 20-year-old Anna Cardwell, are true. Despite the fact that June has denied all of the reports that she and McDaniel are dating, Anna has come forward to talk about the situation with her family, making this an even more heartbreaking and horrifying story.

Anna confirmed to People that McDaniel "would try and touch me and all that stuff" when she was eight years old, and Radar Online has even more upsetting and graphic details from Henry County, Georgia court papers they obtained and published with Anna's consent. And although June is also denying that she's back together with McDaniel to Anna, her daughter isn't sure what to believe.

"I'm just confused," Anna said. "I'm hearing one story from Mama and another one from someone else."

And the story that June is telling is the same one that she's been sharing with social media: That these allegations definitely aren't true. One of the most disturbing details? When Anna first told June about what McDaniel did to her, June didn't believe her:

"Mama said the story isn't true and she said she hasn't seen Mark since he's been out of jail. My whole body believes that she is telling the truth, but my mind is going back and forth from – you know, hey, she's telling the truth or she's not telling the truth, but most of me believes her. A week or so after it happened, I talked to Mama and she was upset, crying and saying, 'I don't believe you, I don't believe you, why would you do this to me?' And I was like, 'Mama, he did that to me and I can't do anything about it. You were never there to see it. You were always at work.'"

Anna then moved in with her grandmother and didn't move back in until just before Honey Boo Boo's premiere, and although they were able to repair their relationship once, Anna's not sure that can happen again. When People asked her how she would feel if the rumors are true, she said:

"I would feel hurt. I would not feel betrayed, but I would feel hurt. You know the past should be in the past and it should stay in the past and not come back out. I would not let her see Kaitlyn unless Mark is out of the picture or away because I don't want him nowhere near my child. Nowhere close to her."

And as far as the future of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo goes? TLC has canceled the show as well as all activities surrounding the show, and have released a statement promising they're "faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being."

It's a serious bummer that Honey Boo Boo is no more, but it's good to see that TLC is setting a precedent that shows they will not tolerate this kind of behavior from their reality stars. I can't help but feel betrayed that this has happened in a family who appeared to love each other so much, but I'm proud that Anna is standing up for herself.
