Did Aviva Throw Her Fake Leg to Avoid Being Fired?

I think we're all in agreement that this season of The Real Housewives of New York has been one big yawn factory. Their trip to Montana was essentially a Tylenol PM in reality TV form. But it's going to get better, m'friends. Much better. In the July 22 episode of RHONY, Aviva Drescher rips her prosthetic leg off and hurls it in the midst of a fight with some of the ladies while they're eating dinner at famed (and classy) NYC eatery, Le Cirque. While wiggling out of her fake leg, Aviva apparently yells, "What do you want from me? To crawl out of her?" She then tosses the limb and it hits the sommelier in the head, knocking him unconscious. Just kidding about the sommelier part, but she really does chuck it.

To say that Aviva Drescher has been weird this season is like saying Kate Middleton's hair is kind of shiny. Drescher has done a 180 in terms of her personality from last year -- and can we all agree that it doesn't seem incredibly genuine? Her disposition shift may be because she was portrayed as, well, a pretty unlikable person last season, or because she's trying to keep herself from getting fired. Either way, her antics don't seem to have worked: she still doesn't have a massive fan club, and everyone in the RHONY cast is going to be let go, save for Ramona Singer, according to a source. Yep. Even Carole Radziwill. (How does one fire Carole Radziwill?!)

Things, of course, are always subject to change and who knows what will happen after Leg Throwing-Palooza airs. Could be a game-changer. But if Aviva is hoping to gain fans and save her career as a Real Housewife, she might want to keep it real instead of doing the weird fake thing she's been doing all season.

That said, watching her throw her leg in the middle of a Michelin Star restaurant is going to be pretty damn epic.
