High school sweethearts no more, Cuba Gooding Jr.'s wife Sara Kapfer is filing for divorce. TMZ learned that Kapfer filed the papers in Los Angeles today citing irreconcilable differences between her and her husband of 20 years. The couple met in high school and married in 1994. They now have three children and will share joint custody of the two that are still minors.
In the past Gooding has talked about the effort is takes to keep up a relationship under the strain of traveling for work. His time on Broadway put strain on his relationship last year which he opened up about on The View. "It's a bit of a pull on that to keep the household together," he admitted. But he still gushed that he was so lucky his wife allowed him to take the opportunity. "I got a wonderful lady that knows how to run the household even when I'm not there. [And] we're just blessed with wonderful kids."
It's not known whether it was just the distance that came between Kapfer and Gooding, or if there was a bigger reason, but whatever it was it has to be hard on both parties to end such a long relationship. We wish them and their children all the best.
