Porsha's Ready For Her Close-Up, I Mean, Mugshot
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is getting a little too real. RHOA star Porsha Williams was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge on Wednesday. The charge is from an fight that took place when Real Housewives was filming its reunion show. Williams is said to have "charged" at her costar Kenya Moore after which Moore contacted the police. The whole thing is totally ridiculous. This is supposed to be a show about crazy drama that can be tossed aside suddenly or with a trip to Antigua that the producers planned weeks in advance. The physical violence is never supposed to extend beyond a simple wig snatch.
The incident occurred during a taping on March 27. According to Real Housewives' executive producer/reunion host Andy Cohen, "To me, it came out of nowhere. The other women felt like Kenya provoked [Porsha] a bit...I was so shocked and surprised. I don't want that to happen. I think it's gross."
An insider described the fight in more detail to Us Weekly, "Porsha stood up, so then Kenya stood up. Porsha charged at Kenya and pulled her hair, but it was over in a matter of seconds...Andy [Cohen] and a producer jumped in, and then security came."
Because Moore didn't press charges until after March 27, a warrant for Williams' arrest wasn't placed until Wednesday. That same day Williams got herself all dolled up and headed down to the Fulton County Police station.
Yep, that's her mugshot. I guess when you're turning yourself in, you can take your time and look your best. After taking her glamour shot, Williams paid her $2,000 bond in cash and hit the road.
RHOA's reunion starts airing on Sunday, so unfortunately for Williams, her legal woes are sure to draw in the viewers. In a preview of the first reunion episode, Moore is shown using a megaphone so that she can talk over Williams while WIlliams is shown calling Moore a "slut from the 90s." At the end they both jump up and get in each other's faces and even Nene Leakes can't believe what she's seeing. You can bet that the episode is going to end at that point, so the fight can rollover into the next one. If there's one thing Real Housewives knows, it's how to keep the nonsensical drama going for several episodes.
