Britney Spears Goes On Awful Dates, Too

by Allyson Koerner

If you're someone who truly believes celebrities are perfect, especially when it comes to dating, here's a story that will make you rethink that. As the October cover star of Marie Claire UK, Britney Spears opened up about a bad date she once went on. According to the Glory artist, she really liked the guy and was extremely nervous about going out with him. See? Even Britney Spears gets nervous about going on a date. One would think her date would be the anxious one, but, no, she was.

Unfortunately, the date didn't go as she had planned, which just goes to show you that Spears can relate to everyone who has ever had a date go wrong. According to the 34-year-old singer, this was one of her worst dates. "I had a really bad date," she said. "I mean, it was really bad." She then opened up further and proved that her dates are nothing like what you've seen in her music videos:

"I’ve been single for ages and had a date with a guy I liked. I was getting anxious, worrying he wouldn’t like me. In the evening I got on the scales and I had lost six pounds ... We went to the movies, but I could tell right away it wasn’t working. It was sort of awkward. So after the movie I came home and that was it. It just didn’t work [...] He just wasn’t that into me. I liked him. He knew that. But he definitely didn’t feel the same. It happens to everybody. Being famous doesn’t make you any different."

All of this just goes to show you that celebs definitely aren't flawless and they certainly don't lead a life like you see in a romantic comedy. In certain aspects of their lives, celebrities are "normal" just like their fans. As much as I feel for Spears here and wished her date would've gone better, it's nice to know that her personal life isn't as wonderful as one might imagine. She really is relatable and would probably be the perfect person to eat junk food with after having your date expectations crushed.

Basically, if Spears can survive a bad date, so can you.
